Kasim Ortiz, PhD, MS, (he, him) is an assistant professor in the Department of Health Management and Policy at Drexel University’s Dornsife School of Public Health, with a secondary appointment in Dornsife’s Department of Community and Health Prevention.

Kasim Ortiz is excited about starting his career at an institution that is deeply committed to research and teaching.

As an emerging scholar, he joins a community that values social justice, embraces diversity, and cultivates collaboration through superior institutional investment in junior scholars.

He hopes that the mentoring environment afforded through the FIRST faculty cohort will propel his career towards accomplishing cutting-edge scholarship and producing policy-relevant evidence to confront some of America’s most pressing public health challenges facing marginalized communities.
