Jourdyn A. Lawrence, PhD, MSPH, (she/her) is an assistant professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Drexel University’s Dornsife School of Public Health.
Dr. Lawrence is excited about the unique opportunity the FIRST program provides to grow and collaborate with an incoming group of junior faculty similar in their commitments to health equity. Added is the benefit of engaging with an established faculty that teaches, educates, and practices health as a human right.
She also profoundly appreciates the structured, mentoring-focused nature of the FIRST program and how it provides an opportunity to thrive as an incoming junior faculty member.
The ability to engage with the community of students and trainees at Drexel who exemplify dedication toward improving societal conditions by working with the communities they are part of also drew Lawrence to Drexel, as this is an integral part of her work that she aims to deepen.
